Avec Amato, Marie-Pierre Cravedi mène une enquête photographique et familiale entre Casablanca, l’Italie et les rives de la Méditerranée. Sur les traces de son grand-père italien, installé au Maroc après la Seconde Guerre mondiale, elle retrouve l’atelier mécanique qu’il avait fondé, ses ouvriers et des gestes en voie de disparition. À travers archives, récits intimes et rencontres avec la jeunesse casablancaise, le livre fait dialoguer mémoire familiale, migrations Nord-Sud et histoires méditerranéennes.

With Amato, Marie-Pierre Cravedi conducts a photographic and family investigation between Casablanca, Italy and the shores of the Mediterranean. Following in the footsteps of her Italian grandfather, who settled in Morocco after the Second World War, she rediscovers the mechanical workshop he founded, its workers and gestures on the verge of disappearing. Through archives, intimate narratives and encounters with Casablanca’s youth, the book brings family memory, North-to-South migration and Mediterranean histories into dialogue.
